While I haven't quite grasped the finer points of blogging, I feel Ive done okay. Right? A smattering of whinges, a sprinkle of thoughtful ones, a dash of favourites and lists, garnished with a twinge of my largely uneventful private life.
This post is going to attempt each of those, as per the sarcastic tone most of these have, with a side of my off-beat humour.
Whinge of this week: certain people Ive been co-inhabiting with really must leave. I can only put up with a male presence in my life from afar. Hate to break it to all the father-figure hopefuls out there, but I really cannot, will not and do not want or need a 'dad'. I had one of those once, he was terrible at it, Ive since moved on as has he. Position cancelled and destroyed.
The less said on that topic the better I think.
Thoughts of the week: Sex is wonderful. I can say this on here and not embarrass the lucky *ahem* guy as he doesn't read these posts *score!* There are so many things that we as humans should embrace and having sex is definitley one of those. Also, reading. A good book or well written peice can give almost the same high, in some cases surpass the high of great sex.
Favourites and lists.. hmm top 3 highs of this week:
1. My new planner! It arrived and has its rightful, lovely space on my desk.
2. Writing.. somehow Ive managed a short story. Its terrible stuff, but feels great to get out.
3. Its raining Binks+Em
Point #3 is pretty awesome. I just read Binks' post and realised that yes, we have seen A Lot of each other in the past week. From dinner, clubbing [we must never attempt this again], to Torchwood and cake expeditions we have done quite well.
Largely uneventful private life: Has remained a largely blank void. There was the addition of Si-mon, mmhm, the friend from Decemeber who now snogs me somewhat regularly. The increase in Em and Binks and the giving of blood on Friday last week which led to hilarity. I suppose each event forms a star.. or something sparkly with a little fire at its centre.
Annie D has made a reappearance, she has been seen and teased mercilessley for the month of January. Oh Febuary, how I look forward to thee. For all unfamiliar with AnnieD, she's my rock, and I was hers [ to some extent I hope] in our first year of university. She survived being my neighbour, yes, I was the creepy one who lived next door and peeked over the fence regularly.
Mon, the lovely Mon was sighted and hugged at the Establishment on Saturday evening. Ahem, the club exercise. Her t-shirts and One Tree Hill sit in their pretty position by my bed.
Mission of the week is to see a few more poor sods, and unleash a few more old jokes. Perhaps hear from UAC some form of good news.. expecting some t-shirts I ordered last week, pre my destituteness. But they were Buffy t-shirts! So its okay, right? Right.
Tomorrow shall see the gathering of me and mine at Em's house. Her beloved parentals have left for a few weeks off in 'Nam. And we have been making the most of it. Tomorrow we celebrate Australia Day in true 'us' fashion.. with Star Wars marathons and cakes to be provided by yours truly.
Now, this dearly devoted must venture off into the other end of the void and play a tune for the mighty. Or perhaps just do some more baking.
All in favour of butterfly cakes for Australia Day, say Aye!
